Make: Nature Explorer Bag

Have you checked out Holly’s blog, Chez Beeper Bebe? Well she makes the most amazingly cool kiddo things & I am such a huge fan! I have featured some of her DIY projects on the blog before, but this one is amazing. Seriously, people. Absolutely, unbelievebly, A-freaking-Mazing.

Nature Explorer Bag

I want to make M one. She is turning into quite the little explorer and loves to dig in the dirt for snail shells and various rocks and bugs. But I want one for myself too!!! How much fun would this be for a family excursion through one of the Austin greenbelts?! Somehow I need to figure out how to clone myself so I can make some for us.

Make: 4th of July Pinwheel Bunting

There is just something about a pinwheel that instantly brings me back to my childhood. I love the simplicity and how easy it is to make them. After a fun time making some for M, I wanted to expand on the idea of pinwheels and summertime. Since the 4th is right around the corner, I thought how neat  a pinwheel bunting would look as a fun, festive party decoration! I used some Origami paper in patriotic colors (of course!) and followed some simple instructions found through a google search. And just for fun, I cut out stars and covered them with super sparkly glitter and glued them to the center of the pinwheels for some extra bling. Once all the glue was set and the pinwheels were dry, I grabbed some twine and taped everything together! Super easy and, if I do say so myself, very very cute!

Decked out on the fence

I am a sucker for shiny things & glittery stars always do the trick!

You could easily take this idea and make a pinwheel bunting for any special occasion. I think it would look especially nice for a birthday party!

Science is Awesome!

I love doing little science experiments with M. She gets so excited & really, who can blame her? Science is awesome! I found a great project (via Modern Parents, Messy Kids & Momtastic) that shows how oil & water don’t mix.

How to make a Lava Lamp!

Lots of bubbles.

Fizzy!

Love that face!

We had a blast making tons of bubbles and after, M enjoyed watching the water and oil float and swirl. Loads of fun for my smiley girl.
